Initial Consultation and Design

The first step when installing new sports field fencing is to meet at your site for an in-depth consultation. We assess the area size, terrain, existing structures, usage levels, problem areas and any specific requirements you have. Safety considerations are also discussed to determine necessary fence height and post spacing.

By understanding key factors upfront, we can then provide you with an accurate written quotation complete with a custom fence design layout. If any changes are required, we will adjust the plan until finalized.

Preparing and Measuring the Site

Once you approve the fencing project to proceed, we arrange a site preparation and measuring visit. Proposed post positions are physically marked with spray paint. The perimeter is checked so we order exactly the right amount of materials needed.

For existing grass ovals or courts, turf may be cut back to allow installation of posts and concrete footings. Measuring and marking at this early stage allows work to progress quickly once materials are delivered.

Installation of Posts and Frame

The fence build begins by digging holes at the marked positions around the perimeter. After holes are dug, concrete is poured to create below ground footings. Steel posts are lowered into the concrete which locks them firmly in position once dry.

The frame is then affixed to the upright posts using durable galvanized brackets, rings and fixings. Horizontal rails give the structure strength and rigidity ready for infill. The frame is made completely rigid, level and permanent before moving to the next phases.

Adding Infill Panels or Mesh

To complete the boundary, fencing mesh, steel panels or other infills are secured onto the inside of the frame. These can include:

• Galvanized chain wire
• Welded mesh
• Steel palisade
• Colorbond
• Timber panels
• Privacy slats

The infill selected depends on budget, aesthetics, security needs and sporting requirement. Our experts will guide you to make the right choice. Mesh and materials are stretched tight and fastened securely into place with ties and ring fasteners.

Gates, Access and Locking

Gates for player and official access are installed directly into the fence line. Standard widths range from 1 to 4 metres. Gates feature sturdy hinges, self-closing mechanisms, hasp and staple latching and provision for padlocks. Safety caps are added to exposed posts.

For secured facilities, we recommend installing 3 metre wide double gates to allow vehicle entry if needed. Locking bollards and key coded systems can also be supplied. Gates open smoothly and lock securely.

Inspection, Handover and Documentation

As the final step, we complete a thorough inspection of the new sports field fence installation using a detailed quality checklist. All posts, framing, joins, infills, gates and locks are checked over. We can rectify any minor defects immediately.

You receive documentation listing all materials used plus warranty and maintenance information. Our work is certified compliant with Australian standards for durability and safety. We notify council of the completed works if required. Our team is also available for any future repair or extension work.
